It was not simply everyday holidaymakers who booked flights to Mexico in 2007 it would appear, as Lovetripper reports that Hualtulco was home to one of the top celebrity resort weddings of 2007.

According to Lovetripper, pint-sized songstress Anastacia married her former bodyguard on a Cliffside retreat at the Quinta Real Hualtulco in Mexico.

Lovetripper reports that the retreat features a Moorish motif, reminiscent of the ancient ancestors of the region.

Other top celebrity weddings included Pamela Anderson's dove-dangling, "petal-strewn" marriage to Rick Saloman who married in a Las Vegas casino and Jon Cryer and Lisa Joyner, who also tied the knot at a Mexico resort in Cabo San Lucas.

Cabo San Lucas was recently named as a top ten international destination in a 2008 travel trend survey by Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

Also in the top ten was Cancun, Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta.
