With 340 days of sunshine a year, hot summers and mild winters, Cyprus has a great climate as well as a rich history and beautiful landscape that will always be popular with tourists.
Cyprus has been a member of the EU since 2004, and this too has had its impact on the amount of flights to Cyprus and has also sparked a rapid rise is property values.
With the euro on its way to Cyprus in 2008, this trend is set to continue, according to Simon Cozzolino, from Cypriot property firm Pafilia, who said: "Things are going to be skyrocketing next year because of the Euro factor."
The abundance of affordable flights to Cyprus has also had an affect, according to Mr Cozzolino, who said: "Over the last two years we've seen the amount of investors rise to make up about 60 per cent of the market because Paphos airport is doubling in size."
He added that Alphajet and easyJet were both likely to soon start flights to Paphos, so flights to Cyprus will get "cheaper and cheaper".
