Tivat is modern and yet pretty town, in the South of Montenegro, boasting one of the most beautiful parks on the Adriatic thanks to seaman who brought back from their trips a variety of species from around the World. There is also a fantastic beach at Plavi Horizonti. Most tourists to Montenegro visit Tivat, which is also an important harbour. The origins of the town date back to the 3rd century B.C, and the town was an important religious centre in the 14th and 15th centuries, with the Monastery of St Michael being the seat of the orthodox archbishop.
