Aqaba is a fun coastal town in the far South of Jordan, and is important as the countries only port. The town has a border with Eilat in Israel and you can pass between the two countries at this point. Aqaba which lies on the tip of the red sea is an all year round diving and beach resort, with easy access to several prominent dive sites.The resort can boast everything from 5 star hotels to campsites, as well as good shopping and friendly people. Adrenalin junkies are also well catered for with it being an excellent base from which to visit the dunes of Wadi rum, made famous by Lawrence of Arabia on 4 x 4 adventure trips.
