Calgary

Calgary is a very likeable, busy and ever-growing place. The famous Glenbow Museum is worth a visit, but Calgary is the sort of place you can wander around all day. The Calgary Stampede is another popular attraction: a cowboy carnival whereby the whole town and many tourists too dress up in boots and stetsons which is still very much a way of life in the nearby cattle country. You can see other historic sites or take some time out in one of its lovely city parks. There are many bars, restaurants and shops in Calgary, so it is the perfect place to go for a holiday with a bit of everything.

Deer Lake

As the name suggests, the town overlooks a beautiful lake. Deer Lake is fast becoming a bustling tourist centre. The town is the gateway to the Gros Marne National Park, which is a World Heritage Site. It is also the outdoor activity and snowmobile centre of Newfoundland. For the enthusiast there is an ice arena, walking trails and opportunities for fishing and hunting.

Edmonton

Edmonton is the Capital of the state of Alberta, and is located within a prairie landscape with a lush river valley at its heart. Known as Canada's festive City, there is always something going on. Edmonton is a great base for discovering the excellent Ski and Summer resorts of Banff, Jasper and Calgary.

Halifax

Set beside one of the World's greatest harbours, has become one of the most important places for the region's transport. With a population of over 500,000 people, Halifax is a huge city with a very metropolitan atmosphere. The town's most significant sight is the Citadel, the old British Fortress remaining from when the British developed Halifax in 1749. Hamilton

This is a New Airport and route for flights to Ontario and New York State. Hamilton is only a short journey from Toronto, Niagra falls. With prices currently far lower than direct flights Toronto go ahead and get yourself a bargain flight to Canada

Montreal

Montreal is the 2nd largest city in Canada and the largest in Quebec province. The name is derived from the French 'Mont Royal', the name give to the hill with 3 peaks in the middle of the city. Montreal is renowned for its cuisine, with numerous French influenced bistros and a thriving cafe culture. The shopping is excellent and varied in Montreal with everything from Victorian style boutiques and antique shops to an extensive underground network of modern shopping centres. There is also an interesting cultural scene including art galleries, museums, historic buildings and music festivals.

Ottawa

Situated on the banks of the majestic Ottawa, Rideau and Gatineau Rivers, Ottawa is one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. A thriving international technology and business centre and world class tourism and convention destination, Ottawa is also rich in culture and heritage with its many national institutions, parklands, waterways and historic architecture. St Johns

St Johns is one of the oldest cities in North America. It has a stunning location in Newfoundland on a granite harbour surrounded by hills. Toronto

Vancouver

Nestled between the sea and the snow-capped mountains, Vancouver is always a popular holiday destination with visitors. There are a great number of lovely beaches around its picturesque waterfront and the buzzing harbour is the perfect place to go at night for a meal and a few drinks to unwind. There are many activities to enjoy including swimming, sailing, skiing, fishing, hiking, golf and tennis and in the summer it is lovely to relax on one of several beaches. There are also many festivals held throughout the summer including rock and jazz festivals. Vancouver, although boasting lots of magnificent architecture, is not a city which offers or requires kits of sightseeing. Its breathtaking natural beauty makes it the sort of place where it is enough to just wander and sit in a café and watch the world go by.
