If you have ever fancied holidaying like Royalty, then Cala Mayor is the resort for you. Cala Mayor is home to the Marivent Palace where the Spanish royal family enjoy their summer holidays. The king and his son participate in the Yacht Regattas in August, but this is not the only reason the Royals choose the beautiful location for their summer retreat.

Despite the fact the Marivent Palace is closed to the public there is still a wealth to see and do around Cala Mayor. The town has a range of excellent shops, bars and restaurants (one recommendation is the little restaurant Shu-Bi-Dua). If you fancy something a little more cultural you can visit the traditional village of Genova in the hills above Cala Mayor, well know by the citizens of Palma for its fine Mallorcan restaurants. The resort is also close to the large resort of Palma meaning that you can go out for a lively night and then come back to the sanctuary of this quite town.
If you are in to you golf at least three championship courses can be enjoyed without having to travel more than a few miles, and a choice of several others slightly further away meaning that you won't actually have to play at the same club twice.
